Great migration
(Serengeti)

-
April to May: herds begin to move northward towards the central Serengeti, navigating around the Grumeti River and Mara River.
-
June to July: migration reaches the Mara River in northern Serengeti, where dramatic river crossings occur
-
August to September: herds stay in the Northern Serengeti or Masai Mara, grazing on the rich grasslands
